Slurpies

Well, the hustle and bustle of the holidays is pretty much over. Back to the real world I guess!

So we're driving in the car yesterday while doing errands and I notice that Hannah SLURPED down the juice water in her sippy cup in no time flat. I usually get upset at her when she does this because (1) it means we'll have to find a restroom pretty quick and (2) she won't have anything else to drink the next time she asks.

She knows I'm peeved at her and I say, "Oh well! I guess you just won't have anything else to drink until we get home, huh? Why do you do this, Hannah? You know Mommy doesn't like when you drink your sippy cup all at once?"

Hannah's quiet for about a minute and then says,

"Hey Mommy. I have an idea!"

me: "Oh yeah? I can't WAIT to here it."

Hannah: "How about you put me in time out and then give me more juice?"

me: Laughing my butt off

Would you say that cracking up at the things your kids say to you only encourages smart ass remarks?

Merry Christmas!

This was the most fun I've had at Christmas in a LONG time! It's amazing how kids will let you relive the excitement of the holidays all over again. Hannah was sooooo excited about Santa this year, and couldn't wait to put out milk and cookies for him! But instead of the traditional "carrot" for the reindeer, she insisted on a "pickle" instead! :)

On Christmas morning, the kids woke up and got to LITERALLY tear into the living room where Santa left the presents. Jim and I put wrapping paper over the doorways (partly to obstruct nosey peepers who might sneek out of bed)...and also so the kids could tear thru the paper like at a football game! They loved it!

The kids had a blast opening their bajillion gifts on Christmas morning with Papa here to help! Later, my family came over for more presents, LOTS of good food, and good times. The adults did a "white elephant" gift exchange with a $75 price tag on each gift. Everyone got some really cool stuff! It was a lot of fun!

I'm usually SO ready for the holidays to be over by the time it's the day after Christmas...but I have to say my heart is a little heavy at the thought of putting away the decorations and moving on into 2009. My kids' ages are so much fun right now...I just wish I could freeze them at this time and celebrate Christmas with them every day!

Home Improvement

FINALLY!!! No more ugly carpet in our pool table room! This is something Jim and I have been wanting to change about our house for a very long time...so we finally bit the bullet and put the wood floors in that we love so much. Well, I can take ZERO credit for the work...it was entirely my husband's accomplishment. I feel very lucky to have such a handy man! He worked hard and his hard worked paid off! We're very happy with our newest home improvement!

Crash!

Is the glass 1/2 full or is the glass 1/2 empty? I told Jim he has GOOD LUCK in UNLUCKY situations!

Yesterday morning on his way to work, he was involved in an 8 car pileup on the Loop 202. Almost every car involved was totaled....EXCEPT Jim's truck. He wasn't hurt in the slightest although several people were taken away in ambulances. He called me as soon as it happened and told me to turn on the TV because the news choppers were already overhead. When I tuned into the
news, I could see Jim walking along the freeway TALKING TO ME on the his cell phone! It was crazy!

Anyway, we are very thankful that he is okay. His guardian angel
was looking over him I guess!

Warriors!

My kids are WILD! They get especially crazy right before bed time (which isn't a good thing!) After you see this video, you'll see why they get so out-of-control! I usually escape the room when the rough housing begins...for sanity purposes. One: it's loud and crazy which is the last thing I need to experience after being with the kids all day and Two: I'm always afraid that Jim's gonna hurt the kids. But they just LOVE it!

Beautiful Sunset

I couldn't believe what a beautiful Arizona sunset I captured the other day! This photo has not been altered one teensy bit....just all natural beauty!

What a hard day!

Today I watched my nephew, Jackson. Around noon, it was time for both boys to take a nap...so I got them all settled in and asleep. I sit down on the couch and Hannah walks up to me. I say, "Hey baby. Are you ready for some warm milk and to go lay down in mommy's bed to watch tv for a bit?" She takes in a deep breath, sighs really loud, and with her elbows on the couch and her cheeks resting in her hands she replies, "Yeah. It's been a hard day." I almost peed my pants! Below is a video of Hannah's first experience with the NYC Rockettes on TV. Enjoy!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I've been a slacker with our blog for the past week. We put our Christmas decorations up last weekend...and although I had high hopes of doing the tree together as a family this time, we still ended up with Jim doing the outside lights and me doing the tree. LOL Oh well, maybe it's easier since I've done the tree by myself every year...it might be difficult to let go of the reigns to somebody else on that!

He sees you when you're sleeping!

Hannah's really into the idea of Santa this year...which is really exciting for me cuz I'm totally using him as a pawn in making Hannah behave. I keep singing, "He's sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake...." So last night, we promised Hannah that we would take her to see Santa at the mall. I get both her and Mason all dolled up for the pictures (which they barely cooperated for at home!)...and the little knuckleheads wouldn't sit on Santa's lap by themselves!!! Which is why you'll see ME wearing jeans and a nasty hairdo and Jim is still in his work clothes! Needless to say, he and I were NOT expecting to be in the picture...but when we had already paid the $20 to Santa's elves, we HAD to get a picture! Ahhhhhhhhh, the joyful holidays!

Birthday Party!

On Saturday, we celebrated Hannah's 3rd birthday with a party in the park! We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day...the weather was absolutely perfect! This year, we had a petting zoo and pony cart ride for the kids and I think it was a hit! Of course, everyone was overly generous with the gifts....so Hannah's toy box is over flowing with new toys! The birthday girl had tons of fun and thanks everyone for coming to her party!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was so much fun at the Moser House this year! We hosted a total of 18 people with lots of food, drinks, and good times! After a yummy dinner (which everyone brought a dish for), we played a fun dice game called Left, Right, Center. It was getting pretty rowdy but the kids loved it as the "grown ups" were hootin' and hollerin' for the winners!

You are my Sunshyne....

My cousin, Sunshyne, along with her husband Chris, and two kids Makenzie and Ethan arrived at our house this past Wednesday for a 5 day visit. The kids were all very excited to be together again and it was great being able to visit with my fave cousin! After dinner the first night they were in town, we plopped all the kids (minus 2 month old Ethan) into the tub for some clean-up time!

Diaper Duty

Little Miss Hannah has turned into Little Miss Mommy! I ran to get my camera as fast as I could when I turned the corner and found Hannah with Mason layed up on the floor while he patiently allowed her to change his diaper! Does this mean they're old enough to stay home alone so I can go get a pedicure now? LOL

She did a pretty good job...except she didn't fasten the diaper tight enough. Mason pulled it off right away...and as you can see from her facial expression in the last picture, she was not too happy with that!
