Girly Girlz love their hats!

Hannah got her hands on a couple of our friend (Jeannie's) hats the other day. She had quite a fun time modeling them for me too! What a ham!

A Visit From Friends

This past weekend, Jim's childhood friend, Todd, and his wife, Jeannie, came to visit us from Wisconsin. We were excited for their visit and had lots of fun activities planned while they were here basking in our sunshine and heat.

Well...that didn't turn out the way we had planned. We took them to Mexico the first day they were in town. On the drive down, it rained and hailed on us. When we arrived at the beautiful resort, it was so windy, you would've thought we were in a hurricane. This is no exaggeration. It was too dangerous to leave the room! We managed to sneak out for dinner that night...and that was an adventure in itself! Normally, the waters in Rocky Point are as calm as a lake...but as you will see in the pictures, there were 8 foot waves! Very disappointing for everyone... :(

The cool temps continued even when we were back in the valley. Jim and I were LOVING it! But Todd and Jeannie have this weather in WI all the time...so they were pretty bummed.

Finally, on Sunday, the weather was gorgeous and we all went out for a Harley ride. It was a beautiful day and everyone had fun!

Over the Hill

Well, I guess it doesn't feel THAT different being in my 30's instead of my 20's! I just hate saying it out loud!

For the big THREE-O, Jim took me to Rocky Point, Mexico with my brother, Stacy, and a bunch of our friends! We were all very excited to get down there on Friday to begin the festivities...until we hit a little "road block" right outside of Rocky Point.

Apparently the federalies decided to do a thorough drug check of EVERY car entering their town...which led to a traffic back up for MILES and MILES. I was bumming! But my husband (the hero) and my brother (the knight in shining armor) used some of their "occupational skills" (let's call it) to persuade the AK-47 wielding dudes to let us pass the 200 cars ahead of us and sail right through the inspections! THEY SAVED THE DAY! We would've been stuck there for at LEAST another 2 hours!

Anyway, the trip was fantastic! The resort was amazing! And my favorite part was the super fun water slide! I guess I'm not really that old after all!

Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore!

Holy Toledo! We just had the craziest storm pass over us just 10 minutes ago! I can't believe what happened! I could tell it was getting really windy outside...so I got up from my office to close the doors around the house. When I walked thru the pool table room, I noticed that our GIANT raft was out of the pool!!! We have lots of thorny bushes in our yard (and our first raft already popped)...so I ran out there to save my favorite pool toy! On a wind-free day, it's very difficult to flip this raft over by yourself. LET ALONE when there's huge wind gusts! Well, I got underneath it, and pushed it up until it was standing upright...I just needed one more little push and I could've had it flipped over in the pool. Then I could've secured the anchor and everything would've been fine....but just as I was about to give it one last shove, a HUGE gust of wind came in and BLEW ME OFF MY FEET! It tossed me about 4 feet away (thankfully onto the grass and not onto a cactus!) I landed on my butt...and then the raft blew on top of me! So here I am, tossed around like a rag doll, and pinned under this GINORMOUS raft thinking "this is it, I'm a dead woman". I managed to crawl out...and just dragged the raft into the pool (still upside down), and secured the anchor into the water.

I posted some pictures of the destruction and mayhem! :) The tiki torches are bent in half, the kids' sandbox umbrella is bent and ruined, and the glass table flipped over and broke our potted cactus! Before this little episode, my hair was completely smooth and straight...neatly pinned back. Now I look like an 80's rock star! And would you believe, it's already sunny outside again? Arizona has some crazy weather!

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was Mother's Day! We all had a great time at my mom's house having brunch with the whole family! We were taking lots of family pics, Hannah and her daddy were acting goofy together, and Mason was learning to do somersaults! It was a fun day!

From the kids, I got a gift certificate for Cosmo's Salon and Day Spa...so I'll be getting spoiled this week with a massage and waxing (ouch!) I even got to sneak off for a pedicure today (thanks to an early bday present from my mom!) Later, Jim, I, and the kids stayed home and ordered pizza. We all curled up on the couch and pigged out!

Ahhhhh, it was a great day!

Parkin' it

Today we spent a little time at the park...the kids' favorite place (beside McDonald's). LOL We're trying to enjoy the last few days of tolerable weather before all Hell breaks loose with the temperatures (no pun intended)!!!

The kids and I tried to stay busy over the weekend while Jim was away. He and 11 other guys took their Harley's on a VERY long roadtrip to Durango, Co! He said it was pretty cold...but he loved every minute (or hours) of the ride.

Back in AZ, my mom kept Hannah overnight on Friday, and I managed to sneak away Saturday night to go to a friend's wedding. It was a fun and relaxing weekend...but we were ready for Daddy to come home to us!

One year ago today...

Well, officially it is now May 1...but I'm still awake after midnight (so I'm still working on April 30). It's hard to believe at this very moment last year, I was laying in a hospital bed with my little baby boy wrapped in my arms. I'm amazed every day by how he's growing and maturing before my eyes...but I sure miss that teeny little man! I loved those 2 days in the hospital (believe it or not) with Mason. We got to bond so much with each other without a lot of commotion around. Ahhhhh, it seems like yesterday. Happy Birthday Bugs!
